Museveni Speaks Out On Corona Virus.


HIGHLIGHTS OF THE PRESIDENT'S ADDRESS TO THE NATION ON COVID-19

1.  Schools and tertiary institutions to close for 30 days with the effect of Friday 20th March 2020 at Midday

2. Religious Gatherings of nature and prayers on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays have been suspended for 30 days with immediate effect. And the decision will be reviewed after one month. If there's no danger, gatherings will resume. For now, Prayers will continue but in homes.

3. Political or Cultural Public mtgs, rallies, conferences, elections forbidden for 32 days with immediate effect.

4. All out bound movements by Ugandans to the category one countries are banned.

5. All Ugandans returning to Uganda will be put under mandatory quarantine in designated places at their own cost.

6. Non Agric work places will continue to operate but must follow MoH issued standard guidelines

7. Uganda style weddings that bring together a 'Pentagon' of groups have been postponed for 32 days. Can have a wedding of Bride, groom, matron and Best Man and priest. ( not more than 10 people)

8. Public Funerals should be done with close relatives nearby, then mourning and rituals can be done later after the Pandemic. Corona virus victims will be buried by the state.

Makerere university Ivory Tower catches fire

  Its yet another sad morning as Makerere University main building caught fight from the Unknown source at the middle of the night. The source says the fire started from the right wing of the building moving towards the left side and allover the building. The Police fire brigade has been sent on the ground to fight the incidence but it has been terrible since the fire had spread already. According to Barnabas Nawangwe, the University Vice Chanchellor,  he said they Will work hard to restore the University ’s Building in the shortest period of time possible. The building is one of the oldest building in the University and was built during the British regime over 9 decades now.
